THE 80/20 APPROACH

Build most of your eating around nourishing foods, with room for the foods you simply love. Balance can be flexible.

80%

A nourishing foundation

Mostly whole and nutrient-rich foods: protein, fruit, vegetables, grains, potatoes, dairy or suitable alternatives, and fats.

20%

Room for enjoyment

A favorite dessert, some chocolate, a pastry, or another food you want—enjoyed in portions that work for you.

A flexible guide, not a scientific cutoff or an exact daily quota. Foods can be both nourishing and enjoyable.

01

Track for awareness.

Asia’s approach is to measure portions and keep a record of what she eats throughout the day. A kitchen scale, measuring cups, and food labels can help make portions clearer. Match your entry to the amount eaten and whether the food was weighed raw or cooked. [8]

Measuring is a tool, not a requirement for everyone. Use it if it helps; it should not turn eating into guilt or constant checking.

02

Enjoy it without punishment.

One food, dessert, or meal does not erase your progress. You do not need to skip meals or add a punishment workout after eating something you wanted. Return to your usual routine at the next meal.

03

Let the pattern matter.

Portions and overall habits matter over time. The 80/20 approach leaves room for satisfaction alongside nourishment. Aim for a way of eating that meets your needs and feels sustainable, rather than chasing a perfect day.

“Never punish yourself for eating something you want.”ASIA’S REMINDER · MODERATION, CONSISTENCY & KINDNESS
